So yesterday Nick found that part of the basement was soaked in freezing water. Don't know where it came from. Don't know how long it's been there. Don't know if it's still coming or if it's stopped.
What do you think someone charges to come out to your house on a Sunday and investigate mysterious pools of water in isolated parts of your basement?
I'm gonna guess an arm and two legs.

Did it ruin the carpet? I hope not. Hope you are feeling better, too.
I think the carpet's okay. We rented a rug doctor and sucked the water up. I guess all the melted snow pooled up by the door to the garage and seeped in through there. I think it's stopped now so it should be okay.
Nick got a free t-shirt from Ace for renting the carpet cleaner and the girl said he would get 10% off his purchase if he put it on in the store. He said no because she laughed when she said it and he didn't want her to laugh at him. Who knew Nick was vain?!?
I think we have a rug doctor, plus I would've given either of you money to keep all appropriate clothing ON YOUR BODY AT ALL TIMES!
