Frustration

So I am very frustrated lately by things that are completely out of my control! As a parent there is only so much you can do for your kids before they have to learn for themselves. Threats, bribes, praise, criticism...just doesn't work.

Gage can not, for the life of him, remember to turn in his assignments. The assignments he completes and puts in the correct folder. CAN. NOT. REMEMBER. I don't know what is making him forget, I don't what he can do to make himself remember but it is driving me crazy.

I'm wondering if maybe I should just go to school with him.

I bet that would make him remember.

What Spring Break Means To Me

So next week is Spring Break and can I just say...it's about freaking time! The snow is all melted, the sun has been shining, and I have opened the windows at least twice.

We're not going anywhere for Spring Break. I might take Layla on an outing or two, but just around here. Otherwise we have planned a whole lot of nothing and I couldn't be more excited to do a whole lot of nothing. That's right up my alley. I'm really good at doing nothing. I have mastered the technique of doing nothing and doing it very well. If it involves limited to no effort, sign me up!

Forget vacations to Disney World or beautiful destinations. Just give me my hammock, trashy novel, and Diet Coke.

Oh, and Layla lying beside me reading her own age appropriate "trashy" novel :)

My Happy Place

So in therapy I did some "Guided Imagery" and had to pick a happy place. My happy place is my very own backyard in the Spring/Summer/Fall lying in the hammock reading a book.

I spent most of the day in my Happy Place.

I'm happy.

I have $9 and I'm very excited about it

So we went to Super Target...and spent ungodly amounts of money. No surprise there. What is surprising is that I spent time finding and cutting out coupons for this particular trip. I don't usually bother for some reason but today I did.

We got our haul and went to the car to load them up and when I reached in my pocket for my phone there were my carefully, thoughtfully found and cut out coupons. Shit!

No worries, I just headed back into the store to redeem them. You know what they do when you forget to use them at the checkout? They give you cash at Customer Service. If you know me well you know that I NEVER have cash...not even spare change. My $9 is now tucked away in my wallet and I am much too excited about it.

I think I might stick with this coupon thing. And I think I might forget to use them at the checkout every time.

Crash and Georgie

So this is Crash a few days before he turned 12. We still thought he looked young and awesome.


This is Georgie at 6 months old. Quite a difference from the gray whiskered and age spotted Crash above.
